The research house "B10" in Stuttgart produces twice as much energy as it needs thanks to sustainability in construction, zero waste and maximum efficiency when heating and cooling.
"I would like to cite the Greek proverb: You plant an olive tree for your grandchildren. This should be our philosophy for construction," is how star architect Werner Sobek explains the fundamental ideas behind the term AKTIVHAUS that he coined. "It is about leaving the generations that come after us a built environment without gigantic mountains of rubbish or huge energy consumption."
